corinne & rudy in the news!!
We'd like to share our journey of light, love and art through news and our blog below. Post comments or contact us and tell us your story--we'd love to hear it!
Meet Adobe! He's my second foster dog for Canines with a Cause--an awesome organization that rescues dogs from shelters, engages them in the women's prison training program, then works with the VA to give the trained dogs to veterans suffering from PTSD or who have other needs for a service dog. www.canineswithacause.org
It was another successful event for Art Access Gallery's annual "300 Plates" fundraiser. Marginal weather did not keep the crowds away, and fun was had by all!
Sarge came to me from Canines with a Cause, a rescue organization that saves dogs from shelters, the takes them to the women's prison for training and Canine Good Citizen certification. Working with the VA, they then give the trained dogs to veterans who are suffering from PTSD or who need companion animals. I had the joy of fostering Sarge when his veteran owner had to go in the hospital for three months. For me, it was such a joy to have this boy in my home, but he has a job to do. Yesterday he was reunited with his owner, and I know he will be an awesome therapy dog--may he and his owner have many happy years together!
We had a very nice article in the Park Record on Saturday highlighting our latest awards and our upcoming author event at Dolly's Bookstore on Tuesday, May 2 from 4:00-6:00. I'm so excited to be celebrating Children's Book Week at Dolly's, my favorite independent bookstore! Stop by on Tuesday, May 2 from 4-6:00 PM--we'll have my Roaming with Rudy kids' Paris and Washington DC travel guides, Rudy themed journals and Wake Up to Love, Lessons on Life from a Dog Named Rudy. We'll share some secrets about our next travel guide, "Roaming with Rudy, London!"
I'm in Innsbruck, Austria this week accompanying my boyfriend on his conference trip. I thought it would be a good place to work on the Roaming with Rudy, London! book because there wouldn't be as many distractions....haha! Not the case, as there are quite a few sites and gorgeous scenery in this charming town. I am squeezing in a little bit of work and hopefully will have the London kids' travel guide finished by May 1.
I finally finished the second painting for Art Access Gallery's "300 Plates" fundraiser. This was a difficult one--I'm experimenting with mixed media, using maps as first layer, then painting on top. I had issues with the map bubbling. Any mixed media artists out there have any tips on avoiding this problem? I'd love to hear about your process! Thanks!!
